JAGNA – The two-day affair with the barangays to showcase farm products closed with funfare in the afternoon of September 28.
The Municipal Agriculture Office in its closing ceremonies gave the awards to the winners of the PINAKA and Best Booth. PINAKA winners range from the biggest to the heaviest farm produce. Different barangays won and received cash prices.
Vino Kulafo and BMEG added fun to the event with the parlor games they sponsored. The barangay councils were in high spirits during the games and upon claiming their prices.
The Agri Fair started on September 27 with an opening program attended by Mayor Fortunato R. Abrenilla, Vice Mayor Exuperio C. Lloren, SB Chair on Agriculture Kag. Teofisto Pagar, Sr., Gov. Chatto’s representative Tatay Billy Tongco, a representative from Cong. Arthur Yap and the Provincial Agriculture Office.
Judging of the PINAKA and Best Booth followed.
In the afternoon, a literary, musical contest was conducted with Binisayang Awit, Balak and Sayaw. The Councils gamely participated.
Early evening dinner was dubbed “Barrio Fiesta” where dinner was served at the Municipal Grounds characterized by panagsandurutay amongst officials.
Balikbayan Night and Awarding Ceremonies of the 10 Outstanding Barangays according to the Barangay Evaluation on Administration and Governance followed at the Jagna Gym. Hosted by Mr. Gerry Guidaben and Ms. Louella Bantol, the evening kicked off with the Centerstage Band sponsored by Asia Brewery. The Jagna Comparza and Bunga Mar Children’s Rondalla played to the delight of the Balik Jagnaanons sponsored by Snowdrop Travel and Tour.
Balik Jagnaanon Dr. Theodore Abrenilla of Pundok Jagnaanon Cebu gave a message emphasizing the importance of pamilyahay, panagsandurotay ug pag-inampoay especially in Cebu. Representatives from Pundok Jagnaanon Davao, Iligan, London, Manila attended.
The night was capped with the Centerstage Band playing to the crowd their songs.
