Livestock and Poultry Raisers Benefit from Livestock-Free Insurance

by Ma. Chreeve Natayada Sividan
Livestock and poultry raisers in the barangays of Cabungaan, Calabacita, and Mayana have received a significant boost with the introduction of Livestock Free Insurance. Implemented on June 27, 29-30, 2023, this initiative aims to safeguard livestock and poultry raisers from financial losses arising from the unfortunate death of their animals. The program specifically targets registered raisers under the RSBSA (Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture), requiring only one valid ID as a requirement.
To provide comprehensive coverage, Livestock Staff from the Municipal Agriculture Office personally visited the aforementioned barangays to facilitate the insurance process. They exclusively catered to registered raisers and ensured their eligibility before proceeding with the insurance applications. A total of 95 clients were successfully insured during the visits, with Cabungaan accounting for 33 clients, Calabacita with 27 clients, and Mayana with 35 clients.
While the initial insurance drives have concluded, the Municipal Agriculture Office urges interested raisers to take note of the cut-off for insurance applications. The program will resume at a later date, and further announcements will be made regarding its operation. Raisers are encouraged to stay informed and make the most of this opportunity to secure their livestock and poultry against potential losses.
