Personnel of different agencies in the government came to Jagna last March 20, 2012 to conduct a Technical Briefing and Teknoklinik for Extension Workers and Farmers held at the Jagna Gym.
The theme “Makighiusa sa tukmang teknolohiya alang sa mauswagon nga panguma” guided the whole day briefing.
Topics included a wide range of farming technologies such as Mga Natural Nga Abuno; Trichogramma; Integrated Pest Management; Climate
Change ug ang Epekto Niini sa Pnguma; Integrated Nutrients Management.
Farmers, fisherfolks and women etrepreneurs and agricultural technical workers of the municipality attended the briefing.
Speakers were Mr. Jose Travero, Bohol Island State University professor; Ms. Eugenia “Ghene” Mayol, aquaculturist of the Bureau of
Fisheries and Aquatic Resources; Ms. Mary Jean C. Du and Mr. Felix Tubiano, agricultural technologists of the Bohol Agricultural Promotion Center; Mr. Primo Galendez of the Philippine Coconut Authority; PhilRice representatives Ms. Vanessa Joy Rovillos, Ms. Juliet Casing; Ms. Miriam Pastor; Ms. Grace Pungay, media production specialist and Mr. Precioso Patindol, training specialist of the Agricultural Training Institute.
Mayor Fortunato R. Abrenilla stressed the importance of agriculture as the lifeline of the economy. He assured the farmers of his full
support when it comes to innovations in farming. As a former National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) director he encourages the attendees to fully cooperate in the efforts of the government to infuse new technologies in farming for better quality and increased quantity in yield.
The Technical Briefing and Teknoklinik was organized by Municipal Agriculture Office headed by Mr. Camilo Rizano.
