The Municipal Gender and Development Council (MGAD-C) met on February 9, 2012 at the Capt. Goyo Casenas Hall this municipality to assess the implementation of the 2011 GAD Plan of the LGU; to revisit the 2012 GAD Plan and Budget and reaffirm deliverables for the first semester of 2012; and to approve the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Modified GAD Code.
The MGAD-C chaired by the town’s local chief executive Atty. Fortunato R. Abrenilla is pushing for the approval of the IRR to put in motion the provisions of the Gender and Development Code of the town.
The GAD IRR underwent a public consultation last January 18, 2012 attended by the different sectors playing key roles in the development of the town. Discussions came up during the public consultation which led to the revision of some sections of the IRR.
The revisions focused on Rule III which constitutes Roles and Responsibilities as well as Rule IV on Institutional Mechanism. Different committees were given specific names of persons to carry on the task of the committee to complete the IRR.
Approved during the meeting was the draft Assessment of the 2011 GAD Plan and Budget.
Present during the meeting were officers and members of the Technical Working Group – GREAT Women Project led by Hon. Nimfa A. Lloren, representative of the education sector, LGU Department Heads, JACAMACO’s Marivel Bucog, Kahugpungan sa Kababayen-an sa Jagna – Local Council of Women, Inc. (KKJ-LCW, Inc.) president Cecile Opada, PNP representatives, JaSMed Coordinator Ms. Marilou Valles, Ms. Nila Reyes, GAD secretariat head among others.
The meeting ended with the approval of the council of the GAD IRR incorporating revisions and modifications.
