GloBalik Jagna 2012 logo unveiled

The winning logo of the Search for the GloBalik Jagna 2012 Official Logo contest was unveiled on September 20 during the opening salvo of the nightly entertainments in celebration of the feast of Saint Michael the Archangel. Mayor Fortunato R. Abrenilla, Vice Mayor Exuperio Lloren with the 7th Sangguniang Bayan Members and Rev. Fr. Alberto Uy unveiled the logo.

The entry by a high school student, Norbert Macas from the Lonoy Heroes Memorial High School unanimously got the nod among judges FO2 Rico Tadena, Catalino Berro and Rev. Fr. Alberto Uy.

A description of the logo is as follows:  

St. Michael the Archangel – Jagna’s most revered patron, ANG GIYA, MAGTUTUDLO UG MAG-UUNA SA MGA LUMAD UG KALIWAT JAGNAANON SULOD SA 380 KA TUIG.

The Church – symbolizes the present Catholic community of Jagna sustained by strong spirituality for the last 380 years

Calamay – signifies Jagna as original home of the delicacy. It also expresses Jagnaanons creativity and culinary skills

Dove with rays – signifies peace and properity

Ship – represents Jagna as Bohol’s gateway to Mindanao; it also symbolizes Jagna as center of trade and industry

Scroll and the quill – represents the various achievements of lumad and kaliwat Jagnaanons in all fields of endeavors and how they have brought honor and prestige to Jagna over the years

Gestures of Jagnaanon Traits: Prayerful, Strong Sense of Kinship, Respectful

Globe – symbolizes Jagnaanons’ prolific adventure, industry and amiability

Rope – is a symbol of strong in faith in God, family ties and fellowship

The winning logo becomes the official logo of the GloBalik Jagna 2012.
