On August 5, 2011, Mayor Fortunato R. Abrenilla, Kag. Bonifacio Virtudes, Jr., Ms. Anita Ocmeja – MNAO, Dr. Raymund Claudio – RHU 2, Ms. Elizabeth Sajulga and Mrs. Fe N. Virtudes were the delegates from Jagna to the 7th Regional Nutrition Action Officer’s Congress and 2011 Grand Nutrition Awards held at Cebu Parklane International Hotel, Cebu City.
The event was the culmination activity of the National Nutrition Council 7’s celebration of the Nutrition Month. The highlight of which was the congress and the Grand Nutrition Awards.
Mayor Fortunato R. Abrenilla received the awards for Regional Outstanding Municipality – Jagna, Bohol in the search for the National Nutrition Council 7 Best Performing LGUs in the Region and the 2010 Green Banner Award for Outstanding Municipality in the Region – Jagna, Bohol on its program “Sustainable Programs for Malnutrition Reduction”.
Ms. Anita Ocmeja was the 2010 Outstanding Municipal Nutrition Officer in the Region while Ms. Elizabeth Sajulga was the 2010 Outstanding Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinator.
Mayor Abrenilla expressed pride over the awards bestowed to the municipality as it is the first time that Jagna bagged such prestigious awards in nutrition. The local chief executive is thanking all the agencies that worked towards achieving this success and he said he is more determined than ever to vigorously pursue the currently implemented programs and asked the frontliners, the barangays, to continuously support the Municipal Nutrition Council in all its efforts.
