Jagna mayor Atty. Fortunato R. Abrenilla held true to his commitment of good governance thru transparency and accountability by issuing Executive Order No. 23, s of 2013 designating an asset management officer under his office.

The asset management officer’s roles and responsibilities outlined in the executive order are the conduct of a quarterly inventory of all real or immovable properties; conduct functionality of all movable properties; oversee the management of assets and properties owned by the LGU; ensure the efficient, effective and economical use and safekeeping of all LGU assets; act as Municipal Price Coordinating Council; conduct actual inspection of purchase items and post inspection to account for unutilized / spare materials; head of the Acceptance and Inspectorate Tea; accountable for all properties, real or personal, owned by the LGU and those granted in the form of donation, reparation, assistance and counterpart of joint projects; perform archival and records management among other roles and responsibilities.

The appointment reinforced the local chief executive’s promise during his inaugural speech that the administration will “devise ways and strategies of improving the system on participatory, transparent and accountable governance”.

The new asset management officer hired, Ms. Monica Esterlita R. Du, upon assumption of her position immediately started her inventory of the assets of the municipality starting at the mayor’s office. She is taking her tasks one at a time and per office in coordination with the department heads ensuring accountability of persons’ responsible as well as inspection of items.
