JAGNA – Just after election, the local government unit of Jagna is up and about in preparation to evaluations coming this week.
ISO 14001 Surveillance Audit will be coming in on May 27. This will be the third audit and hopefully the six offices under the LGU to be audited will be able to pass and bag TUV SUD’s ISO 14001 certification for another year.
Historically, the municipality was awarded with an ISO 14001:2004 certification in June of 2011 – the second LGU in the Philippines to have been awarded this certification. The certification body of Technischer Uberwachungs Vereine Suddeutchland (TUV SUD) Asia Pacific Group certified that LGU Jagna fulfilled the requirements for an Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2004.
The offices under audit for compliance to the Environmental Management System’s rigid implementing set of standards and internal and external audits are the offices of the mayor, solid waste management, municipal planning and development, waterworks and engineering.
The local EMS audit team is headed by Engr. Peter Jamero.
Another council under siege in preparation for evaluation by May 27 is the Municipal Nutrition Council (MNC). A provincial, regional and national awardee, the council seeks to sustain its status hence preparations are under way for this week’s provincial evaluation. Reports are updated, office is readily prepared to receive the evaluators, charts are being updated and barangay nutrition scholars are appraised of the new changes and additions to each barangay’s action plan.
Ms. Anita Ocmeja, an awardee herself as municipal nutrition action officer, is making sure that the MNC will bag yet another award to add to the awards received and to the local government unit.
