JAGNA – The Local Government Unit of Jagna thru the Mayor’s Office spearheaded the honoring of 11 DUNGOG Kaliwat Jagnaanons today in a ceremony held at the new Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) at the ground floor of the municipal building.
Municipal Mayor Fortunato R. Abrenilla gave the rationale and purpose of the honoring saying that “it is fitting for the LGU to recognize the achievement of the Jagnaanons”.
Leading the honorees is Reverend Father Edward R. Karaan – First Secretary of the Apostolic Nunciature Vatican Embassy in Uganda, Africa; Monsignor Alberto S. Uy – Episcopal Vicar of the Dioceses of Talibon; Dr. Arnold Dasio M. Cagulada – Ten Outstanding Boholanos Around the World (TOBAW) awardee and national president of the Association of Municipal Health Officers of the Philippines; Dr. Winefreda B. Cagulada – newly-elected Vice President of the Visayas Association of Philippine Hospitals; Ms. Anita G. Ocmeja – Outstanding Municipal Nutrition Action Officer-Region 7; Ms. Elizabeth Sajulga – Outstanding Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinator-Region 7; Ms. Idy Cagas – Ms. Bohol Sandugo 2012; Ms. Francesca Angela V. Tadena – Miss Little Bohol Sandugo 2012; Ms. Vanessa Marie Baygan – 7th placer, LET; Ms. Angelita L. Acebes – 5th placer, Agriculturist Licensure Exam; Capt. Allen J. Balaba – 2nd placer, Master Mariner Licensure Exam.
Rev. Fr. Karaan, in his response said that good fundamental values have helped him achieve his goals. He added that efforts to become an achiever was never done overnight. It was a long haul. Sacrifices were made. He urged the other achievers to “not rest on your achievements, life does not end after receiving the honors”. There are still so much to do “for the glory of God”.
The ceremony ended with the closing remarks of former Jagna mayor Atty. Alexander Villacastin who congratulated the awardees.
