LGU Jagna is ISO 14001 2004 certified

The Municipality of Jagna is the second LGU in the whole Philippines to have been awarded an ISO 14001:2004 certification last June 6 held at the Capt. Goyo Hall this municipality. The first to have been awarded is LGU Garcia Hernandez.

The certification body of Technischer Uberwachungs Vereine Suddeutchland (TUV SUD) Asia Pacific Group certified that LGU Jagna fulfilled the requirements for an Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2004.

The Government Services applied for EMS were the pilot offices of the Mayor and Solid Waste Management Office; Municipal Planning and Development and Waterworks; Municipal Engineering; and Rural Health Unit 1. 

The audit was performed April 11-12 this year following three years of rigidly implementing sets of standards and internal and external audits related to Environment Management System by the local EMS audit team. 

The Bohol Integrated Development Foundation (BIDEF) provided the technical assistance to the LGU as well as coordination with the certifying body.

Mayor Fortunato Abrenilla and Vice Mayor Exuperio Lloren accepted the ISO 14001:2204 award from BIDEF Board of Trustees President Rev. Fr. Victor Bompat together with BIDEF Executive Director Enrique Auxilio.

Department heads of the EMS certified pilot offices also accepted their certification and sticker.

Mayor Abrenilla in his message of acceptance emphasized the significance of the achievement and encouraged the LGU to dream for higher certification awards.

The EMS Audit Team in Jagna is headed by Environmental Management Representative (EMR) Engr. Peter Jamero.
