MDRRMC spearheads disaster consciousness activities

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (MDRRMC) spearheads the activities lined up in observance of the month of July as National Disaster Consciousness Month.

The activities kicked off last July 2 at the Municipal Grounds with the releasing of balloons in four colors representing the four DRRM thematic areas : green for prevention and mitigation, blue for preparedness, red for response, and yellow for recovery and rehabilitation.

 

Other activities lined up include the following: display of NDCM streamers; conduct of disaster preparedness drills such as earthquake drill at Jagna Central Elementary School on July 16, 2012 in the morning and a fire drill exercise at Canjulao Elementary School in the afternoon; operation clean-up of storm surge drainage, rivers, creeks and estuaries in Brgy Tejero-Poblacion-Pagina on July 14 with the BIT-IC ROTC cadets and CWTS; continuing Tree Growing Activities in Tubod Monte Integrated School on July 20, Lonoy Heroes Memorial High School on July 25 and Faraon National High School basic life support/cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS/CPR) and water search and rescue (WASAR) demonstration and training to MDRRMC members and residents in the coastal barangays on July 31; launching of New Jagna Active Link Emergency Response Transponder (ALERT) System on July 23 and MDRRM Operational Planning Workshop for CY 2013 on July 18-20.

 

Municipal Mayor Fortunato R. Abrenilla heads all officials and employees of the LGU who is in full support of all the activities.
