Musicians jam to welcome 2014

With much anticipation, the New Year’s event co-organized by the Local Government Unit of Jagna and Snowdrop Travel and Tour dubbed Jagna Musicians’ New Year’s Party at the Park pushed thru on January 3, 2014 held at the Jagna Municipal Plaza in Poblacion, Jagna. Supposedly a musical party to welcome the first day of the New Year, it was cancelled due to inclement weather.

The Jagna Musicians’ New Year’s Party at the Park is the culmination of the Yuletide Tri-Night Festival sponsored by Snowdrop Travel and Tour and Jagna Christmas Night Bazaar organized by the Local Government Unit.

The concept of the Tri-Night Festival was arrived at as a showcase of the 2nd Snowdrop Travel and Tour Lantern Competition sponsored by the couple Mr. Paul Richard and Mrs. Maria Mignon Aseniero-Webb, owners of Snowdrop Travel and Tour. The Tri-Night Festival aimed at giving entertainment to the Jagnaanons for them to have a place and time to relax and enjoy the Christmas season. It was also an avenue to reinforce family bonding and rekindle friendships.

The January 3 event, Jagna Musicians’ New Year’s Party at the Park is a musical extravaganza showing of the talents of the Jagnaanons. It gathered all bands and talented singers and dancers in one place, a first time in the history of the town. A long list of bands and talents comprised the programme of the night hosted by Mr. Merlino G. Acebes. Old bands and new bands of the old and young played and sang songs that kept the audience partying until the wee hours of the morning of January 4.

A brief introduction and presentation of the officers of the organization of Jagna musicians was made by Atty. Fortunato R. Abrenilla and was prayed over for sustainability by the parish priest Msgr. Alberto S. Uy.

The musical groups who participated were Tres Miguellan Drum Corps, Jagna United Band, Nukos Puti Band, Aurora Band, Lagkaw Sounds Band, Riverside Band, Blue Dream Band, Night Blues Band, The Gentlemen of Cantagay, The One, The Arc Sign Band and Noah’s Arc Band.

Singers who serenaded the audience were Mr. Jun-Jun and Mrs. Marishell Gulle, Mr. Junnel Cadua, Mr. Sammy Salinas, Mr. Edvie Lucero, Mr. Marius Ranque, Ms. Maegan Elaba, Mr. Magno Bergantin, Mr. Alex Tadem, Mr. Junjie Cris Corpin, Mr. Tarko Edulan, Mr. Artemio Cadelina, Mr. Peter Acha. Three girls belonging to the Daguplo family, Marjie, Nina Flor and Mary Rose played the violin and organ.

Young students of the Jagna Ballet Center danced for the audience. Ms. Mera Merced showed her talent in interpretative dancing. The students of Tubod Monte Integrated School and the Dynamic Dance Crew gyrated to modern dance music.

Anaztasy Pro-Rap showcased their talent in rap and beatbox.

The program was long but the audience remained waiting for the presentation of their friends and family.
