JAGNA – The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) turns-over today, September 19, the Cambugason Communal Irrigation System Improvement Project – Phase 2 to the Cambrige Irrigator’s Association (CIA). The project cost P1,382,000.00 and will serve eleven (11) hectares of agricultural land mostly ricefield.

The Cambugason Irrigator’s Association headed by Mr. Cirilo A. Acala with 47 members will benefit with the irrigation system that sources its water from the Cmabugason river.

The works undertaken under the project are improvement of existing concrete elevated flume-2 units, concrete lined – main canal – 550 meters and thresher crossing – 3 units.

The officials of the Cambrige Irrigator’s Association and the barangay officials thanked Cong. Arthur C. Yap for his efforts in the project. In his acceptance speech, Mr. Cirilo Acala, president of the CIA thanked Cong. Arthur Yap, the National Irrigation Administration and the barangay council. He gave the assurance that they CIA will take care of the facility for sustainability.

In a resolution the barangay officials led by PB Timoteo Cadorna expressed their appreciation and gratitude to Cong. Arthur Yap for projects that are beneficial to the people of Cambugason.

The Cambugason Communal Irrigation System Improvement Project – Phase 1 and 2 combined now serves a total of 15 hectares of riceland.

Visitors during the turn-over ceremony were Engr. Vilma Uayan representing NIA 7 Regional Manager Alejandro Alberca, Mr. Rene Espinosa representing Cong. Arthur Yap, Tatay Billy Tongco representing the honorable Governor Edgar Chatto,  Mun. Kagawad Maricris Jamora representing Vice Mayor Bonifacio Virtudes, Jr. and Mai Balaba representing Mayor Fortunato Abrenilla.
