Philos Health, an NGO partner of the local government unit will yet again bring to the town more blessings in the form of a new program – Dental Program for Pre-School Children which aims to demonstrate that cavities can be reduced with proper oral care.
This new program that will benefit the children of Jagna is the Dental Program for Preschool children. This will include oral exams, fluoride treatments and distribution of toothbrushes and toothpaste and teaching of proper oral hygiene to pre-school children. The Philos Health will include in their periodic visits to Jagna fluoride treatments and distribution of new toothbrushes and toothpaste.
The Philos Health team led by Mr. Forrest Malakoff will visit Jagna this coming June 10-13 for their quarterly round of barangay clinics. This time they are holding their clinics in barangay Cantagay and Tubod Monte. They will also be visiting other towns, a first for Philos Health. The other towns are Concepcion, Mabini and Guinsularan, Duero.
In this visit, Mr. Malakoff will be bringing in 8 doctors. They will be performing surgery at the Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital for patients with cyst and myoma.
Mayor Fortunato R. Abrenilla is grateful to Mr. Malakoff and Philos Health for the opportunities provided to the people – medical, surgical missions, free medicines, feeding program with Manna Pack and the new dental program as well as countless other opportunities that benefitted the people.
Mayor Abrenilla believes that the dental program will greatly help in increasing the awareness of pupils and teachers on the merits of proper dental hygiene. He added that this new program will no doubt directly benefit the parents as they will no longer spend for dentists to care for the teeth of their children. It will therefore ease up the burden of expenses and will provide free dental care to children who cannot afford to visit a dentist.
