The Local Government Unit of Jagna spearheaded a tree growing activity on Arbor Day, June 25, 2012, 3:00 in the afternoon at Mt. Palingkod, Tubod Monte, Jagna, Bohol.
Different public and private agencies participated in the activity. The DepED principals, school heads headed by Schools District Supervisor Delfina Ola-a. Grades 4,5 and 6 pupils of Tubod Monte Elementary School and teachers and students of Tubod Monte Integrated School gamely plated their trees in the rain. The Jagna DAR, PNP and BFP planted their trees in the assigned area. Businesses were given an area to plant their trees.
The area and trees to be planted were pre prepared by the Municipal Agriculture Office hand in hand with the Municipal Planning and Development Office and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
Mayor Fortunato Abrenilla, after planting his own tree said, “The rain is a blessing. We are sure that our efforts in planting these trees will bear fruit.”
If all trees will grow under the care of a MDRRMC staff, Mt. Palingkod will not be barren anymore.
