Roads will reverberate to the new SINOOG jingle

JAGNA – The new SINOOG Estokada Jingle was launched on September 20 during the NGA-PGA-LGU Night.

In a narration of the events that led to the making of the new jingle, Ms. Lovella Acebes, long time SINOOG ESTOKADA coordinator, highlighted the contributions of Rev. Fr. Floro Hinacay, Ms. Gina Ranan, the warm acceptance to the proposal of composing a jingle by the Local Government Unit led by Mayor Exuperio Lloren during the time as well as local historians and art patrons. Mr. Keith Richard Albino who mixed music genres to come up with a beat to be used in the streetdancing. The support of Msgr. Orencio Jubac, parish priest during the time and PYM director Fr. Julian Asucan made the music alive in the streets of Jagna for some time until 2006 when a suggestion was made to create a jingle.

It was only in the year 2011 when the proposal to create an original SINOOG ESTOKADA jingle was approved by the Local Culture and Arts Council headed by Mayor Abrenilla. The body decided to organize a jingle making contest launched during that same year’s NGA-PGA-LGU Night.

The sole entry was considered the winning entry. It was arranged further by Mr. Marianito Jose Luspo of the Office of the Culture and Arts Development (OCCAD) of the Holy Name University in Tagbilaran City. Mr. Elvis Somosot’s Musikinesis recording company in Cebu City made the final output.

In a bid for institutionalization, the committee currently in charge of the Sinoog Estokada took on the responsibility of installing the mechanism and ensuring the involvement of the public particularly the Jagnaanons to come up with the Official Sinoog Estokada Jingle.

The newly created jingle will be heard through the streets tomorrow during the conduct of the SINOOG ESTOKADA streetdancing.
