JAGNA – A 4-day seminar held from September 17-20 gathered representatives from the different barangays to the Capt. Goyo Hall.

The seminar introduced to the barangays the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture or RSBSA. The  RSBSA is a database that will compile basic information on farmers, farm laborers and fishermen.

The initial step is registration of farmers, farm laborers and fishermen in the barangays. The Barangay Secretaries are identified to be the focal persons in this activity. interviewers trained on how to gather specific data will conduct house to house visit and listing of households. A prescribed registration form is made available to ensure that data gathered are the requirements of RSBSA.

The identified objectives of the RSBSA are 1) creation of a database/masterlist of farmers, farm laborers and fishermen and 2) provision of basic data for use in national and/or subnational development planning on agriculture and fisheries.

There will be two batches. The next batch will start on Sept. 24 up to the 27th.

Facilitators of the seminar are Engr. Gerry Araneta, MPDC; Ms. Lovella Acebes, MCR; Mr. Lito Dajalos, MLGOO; Mr. Camilo Rizano, Mun. Agriculturist.
