The first TUV SUD surveillance audit for LGU – Jagna was successfully conducted last March 19, 2012.
June of 2011, Jagna became the second LGU in the whole Philippines to have been awarded the International Organization for
Standardization (ISO) 14001:2004 by the certifying body Technischer Uberwachungs Vereine Suddeutchland (TUV SUD) Asia Pacific
Group. LGU Jagna fulfilled the requirements for an Environmental Management System ISO certification.
A representative from TUV SUD, Mr. Alan Fabella visited the LGU to conduct the surveillance audit to the pilot offices – Mayor’s Office,
Solid Waste Management Office, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, Municipal Engineer, Waterworks and Rural Health Unit I.
The surveillance audit was performed following the awarding of the certification last June 2011 to monitor continuous compliance and implementation of standards set by the local EMS audit team.
Mayor Fortunato R. Abrenilla was delighted of the positive result of the surveillance audit. He assured the representative of TUV SUD that
he will continuously support the project.
