The Philos Health team is back again in the town to conduct the 14th round of free medical clinics to four barangays, 2nd surgical mission to myoma patients of the town held at the Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital as well as conduct nutrition evaluation to the children benefiting the supplemental feedings sponsored by Philos Health.
The round of clinics this June started last June 12 until June 15.
The surgical team at the TBGDH assisted by local Doctors Lina Cero and Cosnare Seguis performed 5 abdominal hysterectomy, 2 vaginal hysterectomy and 1 cesarian section.
The barangay clinics are jointly conducted by the Philos Health Team and the Municipal Health Unit.
Visit to barangays for the nutrition survey/evaluation is jointly conducted with the Municipal Nutrition Council. Barangays covered are Bunga Ilaya, Bunga Mar, Cambugason, Cabungaan, Odiong, Can-ipol, Larapan and Tubod Mar.
The Philos Health team this time is composed of Mr. Forrest Malakoff and his wife Ms. Annie Lin, Dr. Kim Erlich, Dr. Jennifer Normoyle, Dr. Erica Van Weiss, Dr. Chris Brown, Dr. Lorraine Massa, Dr. Ed Alicaway, Ms. Jessica Erlich, Ms. Katie Erlich, Mr. Nick Massa, Ms. Madison Brown, Ms. Jackie Crowley, Mr Josh Alicaway, Mr. Nate Alicaway and Ms. Janette Alicaway.
Again, the town has benefited from this long-time partnership with Philos Health. Receiving not only medicines but also the establishment of a community radion station, DYJP which has become an avenue to spread updates of activities on health, concerns and general well being of the people of the town of Jagna. Philos Health has also been supportive in many other programs of the town including nutrition program by providing the Manna Pack food supplement to the children.
The partnership with Philos Health started during Vice Mayor Exuperio Lloren’s term as mayor of the town and is still continuously being implemented in the administration of Mayor Fortunato R. Abrenilla.
The mission is ably organized by Ms. Malou Tan-Jumawan of the Local Government Unit.
