JAGNA – March is celebrated worldwide as Women’s Month.
On March 8, 2013, the Local Government Unit of Jagna kicked off the activities in support of Women’s month celebration.
A holy mass was celebrated at 8 in the morning followed by a program held at the Jagna Gym.
Ms. Marcionila Reyes, Gender and Development focal person gave the words of welcome and acknowledged the participants. Honorable Nimfa A. Lloren, SB Committee Chairperson on Social Services and Gender Concerns provided the rationale of the celebration of the month for all women.
A highlight of the activity is the talk of the honored guest Honorable Godofreda Tirol, board member 3rd district of Bohol. BM Tirol emphasized the role of women in PNoy’s Daang Matuwid program in connection with this year’s theme KABABAIHAN: Gabay sa Pagtahak sa Tuwid na Daan.

The program also commended several honorees from the education sector, people’s organizations/cooperatives/business organizations, protective service/religious/sports, government: NGAs/provincial/municipal/department heads, punong barangays/SK, barangay kagawads of Looc, Pangdan, Faraon, Lonoy, Poblacion and recognition of 18 women POs (DOLE Accredited). These honorees were recognized for their efforts in the development of their respective sectors.
Mrs. Rufa Pajo, BIT directress delivered a response in behalf of all the honorees.
The program was hosted by Ms. Janeth Bernaldez and Mr. Clyde B. Ebojo.
Games followed in the afternoon spearheaded by KKJ-LCW prexy Cecile Opada.
