Boctol Vegetable Growers Association (BOVEGA) Expresses Profound Gratitude to Mayor Rañola and LGU for Unwavaring Support

The Boctol Vegetable Growers Association (BOVEGA) from Barangay Boctol, Jagna, took the initiative to pay a heartfelt courtesy call to Mayor Joseph Rañola on February 13, 2024. Led by their president, Marites Rojas, the association expressed their deep appreciation for the consistent support extended by the Local Government Unit (LGU) under Mayor Rañola’s administration.
Mayor Rañola emphasized the significance of BOVEGA’s visit, noting that they stand out as the first association in Jagna to personally express gratitude through a courtesy call for the assistance received from the LGU.
Highlighting the collaborative efforts between the LGU and BOVEGA, it is recalled that in September 2023, the association received substantial aid from the Department of Agriculture. A total of 280 heads of native chicken were provided to BOVEGA. The LGU, under the leadership of Mayor Joseph Rañola, played a crucial role in supporting the association by facilitating the construction of chicken housing through the Cash for Work program.
The assistance didn’t stop there, as the LGU also supplied feeds, vitamins, an incubator, generator, hatcher, nets, and tarps, contributing significantly to the development and sustainability of BOVEGA’s poultry initiative.
Expressing her gratitude, BOVEGA President Marites Rojas stated, “Suklian gyud namo ang kakugi sa tanang nahatag ni Mayor sa amoang association, mapasalamaton gyud me kaayo.” (We will truly reciprocate the hard work for all that Mayor has given to our association; we are sincerely thankful.)
The primary goal of BOVEGA is to sell chicken meat, eggs, and chicks, which has become a sustainable source of income for the association. The tangible support from the LGU has not only empowered BOVEGA but has also served as an inspiring model for other associations in the community.
As BOVEGA continues to thrive, Mayor Rañola expressed optimism about the positive impact their success could have on other local associations. The LGU remains committed to supporting community-driven initiatives that contribute to the overall development and prosperity of Jagna.
