The Farmers’ Field School is a season-long technology transfer process on rice. It involves the establishment of demo farms of the farmer innovator and his attending the farmers’ school every Friday of the week. The LSTD Project was introduced to farmers in the efforts of the government to attain rice self sufficiency. This PhilRice technology is innovative and has been proven to be successful in increasing yield and profit as well as reducing input. This technology promotes the adoption of location-specific varieties of rice for high yield production as there are rice varieties that are only suitable to specific areas.

Farmers from Jagna and Dagohoy Mr. Henry Sedavia and Mr. Diosdado Casing respectively gave testimonies as to the benefits of the LSTD. They stressed on the importance of religiously following the techniques taught by rice technicians to maximize yield.

The activity was spearheaded by the Bohol Agricultural Promotion Center in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Jagna.
